This is the white plastic tub with 2 wheels at the back. I am thinkng of buying one to use in Chichester harbour and wonder if anyone can advise on the stability and suitability for this purpose. The simplicity appeals.

I have the Plastimo 2 metre dinghy, green with a single wheel. I don't know the correct designation. Yours might be slightly longer in which case it may be suitable for more than one person. I have tried two adult in my plastimo and it is definitely short of freeboard. However that said for me and the dog it is ideal, in that it rolls down a ramp full of gear like a wheelbarrow - straight in the water and we are off. With a wind over tide I do get a certain amount of water coming over the bows, enough that all my gear gets wet.

for myself it is brilliant, if I am taking out someone else I need to use my larger dinghy which means I have to use a trolley.

If that is the smaller of the two, then I have one.

Advantages : very light, easy to pull up slippery slipway, very convenient. Rows quite well.

Disadvantages : Freeboard with 2 good sized adults is pretty low. I dont mind using mine for the 20 yd movement from slipway to boat. I would be concerned at any lengthy journey where there was a decent fetch to create any form of waves (or mobos). Only designed for 2hp engine, and mounting bracket flexes horribly even with that. I have strengthened mine considerably and now mount my 3.5 Tohatsu, but dont use full power.

So it works for me!

I have the Plastimo 245 which also has 2 wheels. I use it to get to my boat on a swinging mooring in the lake district which is about 75 meters from the shore. To be frank a full load is 2 average weight men and a little gear, even then the freeboard at the bow is a little small in calm water. I would not like to row in any waves as the flat bow stops the boat very easily. The upside is that it is very durable and stable. I can stand on the thwart right at one side and it is perfectly stable. I debated getting the smaller model (210) but am really glad I did not, in fact if buying again I would go up to the 270 model.

There is a guy who advertises cheap new GRP dinghies in PBO (8' from £195). They are a bit basic but good value IMHO. If we hadn't found the 2nd hand 10' we have I would have got a 10' from him at (IIRC) £295
