I need to replace my oven, my short list seems to be down to one of three Plastimo models as I need an oven without grill due to height restrictions. The models in question are Pacific 3000, or 4500 or 2500 (the last two look pretty identical). Any advise on which is the best model, prices all seem more or less the same.

The Pacific 4500 is in fact a replacement for the 2500 which has been discontinued.

Note that the Pacific 3000 larger and is available with either 2 or 3 burners

As mentioned the Plastimo Neptune 4500 is an update of the 2500. They made a few minor improvements and increased the price by £100 ish (a wholesale increase according to my supplier) and removed the standard pan clamps and gimbals! Luckily I got one of the last 2500 - there may be a few around.

Compared to Plastimo 4500 others (e.g. Spinflo) look better value now.

Edit - reread OP - its the Pacific you are interested in, without the grill. There might be more of the 2500 version still available.

Thanks for the 2500/4500 explanation, that makes sense now. There appears to be one supplier still offering the 2500 at £382 so perhaps I should snap that up.

I have the 2500 - bought last year just before it was replaced at about same price. Howqever, watch out for the pan clamps. Had 3 different types supplied before got ones that would fit. Worth buying an extra shelf - bit expensive, but there is enough height in the oven to put two lots of food to cook at the same time.

You don't say what you are replacing - but if it is an Tecimpex, the Plastimo is a bit less wide, but you can use the same mounting points with a spacer.

Good advice, or, if you are replacing an older plastimo (even 25yrs old) keep the old shelf, it will still fit new one (we did).

Yes, I'm replacing an old Plastimo so will keep the shelf, good tip. Just phoned the shop claiming to have the 2500 at £382, they don't - bother! looks like is might have to be the 4500 then

You mean the Plastimo Neptune 4500 or the Spinflo Nelson 4500 ?

You might also look at the TechImpex Range particularly the model XL2>

These are really good stoves - my one has worked faultlessly for 15 years now. The only thing I've replaced was the pot rack which rusted badly as the saloon window above it was leaking.

Very opposite of my experience. Just replaced mine after less than 10 years. Grid replaced every couple of years, unreliable burners, difficult to replace and spares difficult to obtain. Plastimo seems much better in comparison, even though it is cheapest on the market.

Hmmm, never had any problems with the burners but it was a nightmare to get hold of the pot rack.

A new cooker for the new boat is on the shopping list as the Plastimo 2500 that's currently fitted is VERY slow to boil a kettle. I was planning on buying another Teckimpex but then reading this thread I found out that the Plastimo is made in the UK so I'm going to have a good look at a 4500.

I believe in buying ' local' as much as possible.

If I had the room I would have gone for the Spinflo - also made in UK but arguably better made than the Plastimo which does have some non stainless bits. However it is too high with the grill to fit below the level of the worktop on my boat. Don't really miss the grill tho' as not a toast lover and it is messy cooking with a grill on a boat, so the bottom the range Plastimo is the best choice.

Been down the boat lunch time and I reckon that the Plastimo Neptune 4500 will just about fit. I think the gimbles and pan holder from my old Plastimo will fit so saving a few (well quite a few) quid. The Neptune seems also to offer some higher outputs to the burners so scores there. it also, perhaps, looks a little more modern than the the Nelson which I know is a nice cooker as I fitted one to my last boat.
