I have ("present" from Beneteau) six Plastimo fenders (new in May this year) about F2 size but shorter. These have deflated somewhat and I would like to inflate them. On bringing one home to the garage I found that instead of a srew plug with a valve underneath it there was what appeared to be a permanent plastic plug with no easy way to remove it for inflating. Anybody come across these and found a way to re-inflate them?? or is it a case of bin them and buy real ones !!

Thanks in advance,
Alan.

I had some with what looked like a plug with a small "slit" in it - tried a football needle inflation thing but only succeded in pushing the valve into the fender - exit one fender. The others I used a blow gun fitted with a dome end and found that worked by pushing the blow gun (dome end) against the valve recess and letting rip with the compressed air - the air pressure was enough (upto 90psi) to blow past the valve and reinflate the fender - have to be careful not to over inflate.

Had a similar problem a while back. Marine Superstore at Port Solent fixed me up with a nifty little fender pump with all the different adaptors which worked fine. Sorry, can't remember the details, but my fenders had a similar, odd-looking 'valve', so it's worth giving MS a call or dropping them an email.
