I have to replace the braided gas pipe to the cooker and I omitted to measure it before leaving Greece - can someone confirm it's 8mm?

Braided / armoured not a requirement.
Have you checked the Plastimo site
a cooker would be 8m/m & 6m/m normally for a hob only

Ours has braided hose, 5/16" (8mm) at cooker end and 3/8" at the other.

My Plastimo cooker is a 1/4" pipe at the cooker end. I know because I found it had been fitted with the metric equivalent and it leaked!! I guess it depends on the age/model of the cooker. Mine dates from approx 1998.
