Plastimo Contest Compass Cutout

You'll have to say which compass it is! The most common was the Contest 100, now the Contest101 with the same mounting. I have a Contest 130, which is slightly larger.

Have you tried the Plastimo website?

Sorry - as far as I can see it's the 100/101 type, with the batman-logo-shaped sun cover. I've looked on the Plastimo website, but can only find fitting instructions which refer to a paper template ...

c 4 3/4in for the 101, of course it is not round having the rectangular cut out ot the bottom. I can send the template if you want it.
....if you no longer need the bat shaped sun cover I could use it - someone nicked mine

As you are going to change it anyway, who not take it out and measure the hole?

The boat is three hours away on a swinging mooring: if the hole's the right size it'll be a simple job, if it's too small I'll need to think about enlargement and if it's too big I'm planning to mount the Sestrel in a teak winch pad, which will need bought and bored out.

It's floating somewhere in the Firth of Clyde - if you can find it you're welcome to it!

Have to say I think the plastimo is a good wee bulkhead compass doing everything you could want?

Many thanks. I just don't like the look of the Plastimo. It's too modernistic and plastic - the Sestrel is a gentleman's compass! Plus my Jouster has one and I'm used to it. OK, I admit it, the preference is utterly irrational.
