Hi everyone,

The plastic sink in the heads of my new to me boat is water stained. It looks like a small amount of water has been left in it for some time.

So far I have tried cleaning using the puriclean, the stuff you use to clean water tanks with. Astonish cookware cleaner - slightly abrasive but not too bad. Another similar product which was a bit more abrassive. Oxalic acid left to soak. And bleach. So far nothing can shift the stain. It is a stain in the plastic and not grime on the surface.

Are there any methods known on here to remove such staining?

Cheers

You could paint it.

Thanks for the tips, i'll have another go at the weekend, and let you know how I get on. Its a shame because the rest of the heads has cleaned up well, given the state it was in, I am surprised at how well!

Good luck. We had a similar problem and tried all sorts of fixes. We ended up biting the bullet and bought a nice ceramic replacement which looks just great. Cost a few bob though.
