Can anyone think of anywhere to 'aquire' 3 plastic tanks about 1m square, open top or sealed. There must be somewhere that use them for shipping goods etc. Maybe even 3 wheely bins would do if they are waterproof. In fact pretty ideal.

But hopefully such tanks would be recycled by their users until they were no longer fit for purpose. I take it you do not wish to pay a retail price such as I paid when I had to replace my rusted galvanised attic water tank...

(My tank is nowhere near a metre square, just the biggest I could get through the hatch. The old one isn't either, but still too big to get out!)

Mike.

Wheelie bins then if they are the right size and ideal. You can easily buy them, or nick them from your neighbours. They are water tight

Apparently not. I'm told the 200 litre drums they ship olive oil in (for example) are cheaper to buy new at the source than to ship back. This does create a supply of waterbutts etc at this end, so they're not entirely wasted.

Yes on ebay. Those new fangled window cleaners, the ones that go about with a big van and a very long pole that continually has water pumped through it, use them. Their vans have a great big water tank inside, behind the seats...
