Should I use ptfe tape, or sealant when connecting plastic (composite) elbow to a DZR ball valve. Its 1 1/2" and I'm using a plastic elbow so hopefully its easier to get them apart if it gets blocked at the elbow. Yes exactly what happened recently :-(

thanks, Colin

If your ball valve is a compression fitting you need an insert inside the plastic.
If its a thread, then 55 cord or PTFE will do the job. Wind it the correct way so it tightens onto the thread as you assemble.

Assume you're talking Trudesign or Marelon or similar, not ordinary plastic?

Anyway, a second for Loctite 55. Clean, easy. The instructions dictate a certain number of wraps for different diameters; I have found that some items fit more snugly (less 55 required) and other looser (add extra 55 relative to the guidance).

yes, Trudesign. Its a right angle hose tail. I'll try the Loctite 55, thanks All for the suggestions.
