Im very practical and have no money! Ill have no problem in producing a one but I cant even find a picture of a wind weather auto steer... know of any sites, pictures etc?

Which type (if theres more than one) is best, and does anyone have any experience in using or making one?

Cheers!

Having read quite a few books on the subject ,imo this is the absolute dogs bxxxxxlllls for understanding the differing systems and those commercially available,though it is quite an old book now and NOT CHEAP!
And yes I built quite a sophisticated little unit which at the Mark 5 (!) would operate efficiently from 2 knots to 35,so well pleased with the info I was.

Best deal is to go to this site and read all the info;

Then chase up the Walt Murray's designs and find one suitable to use on your boat. Start at the 20/20 design and use that as a basis, makes the operation of windvanes much easier to understand. Very cheap to make but labour intensive.
