Can anyone give me some advice please. We are planning a trip to France/Belgium/Holland. What do we need to do regarding customs and what documents do we need to take? Any more tips would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Belgium could be a problem if you have red diesel in your tank, do a search on scuttlebutt for much more info.

trip to france

Hi we live aboard in France and have for thte last 11 years. You will need your boat insurance in french and english. SHips papers with vat certificate. An ICC for inland waterways. If you bought red deisel from a marine supplyer and have the recipt on headed paper no probs but dont carry more than 20 lts in one can of fuel or they may charge you the vat of the country on it even if you paid vat in the UK. All persons passports should be keept with the ships papers. On entering a port in eUROPE YOU ARE NOT EXPECTED TO VISIT THE CUSTOMS BUT THEY MAY VISIT YOU. If they do Please be polite and helpfull and they will be the same to you. When entering Dutch water you may be visited by a customs launch if so do as asked and be polite. They are profesionals and are trying to keep you safe from drugs and terrorists.
Hope this helps but if you need more you can search the countries that you wnat to visit and look at their regulations.

Can never be sure when on leave, so difficult arranging an organised trip, but a good idea never the less.
Thanks.
