Hi

We are planning a " Big adventure " leaving Bray marina on sunday 30th august and returning on the tuesday after, ie a 3 day trip

What I was thinking was to go to Harleford on day one and overnight there

On day 2 to head on up past Henly and return to Harleford and overnight there again

Then on day 3 return to Bray

We will be on a Sealine s34 ( 34 foot )

I would welcome any advice , tips , and places to eat/visit/moor etc

Forget Harleyford, continue for a few hundred yards to Hurley Lock and give the Lockie £6.80 for a mooring on the picturesque island. From there it's a short walk to Hurley village for a meal at the Rising Sun:encouragement:

Harleyford is only a three hour trip from Bray, although the Bank holiday could extend this by two hours...
I'd head for Henley, eat in town and then go upriver on the Monday, perhaps to Sonning for lunch. Go back to Shiplake or Bushnells (if you want shore power) at Wargrave overnight and then cruise Tuesday back to Bray.
You shouldn't need shore power. If you need the heating on or hot water just run an engine or two.
Harleyford are charging £26 overnight. So if you plug-in make sure you run all the electric appliances/heating you can

Ouch.

Shillingford Bridge Hotel charge £15 per night, electricity £5. (Refund for portion of unused electricity.

And, yes, I realise it is further upstream than Chuckaduck wants to go...

I've got a spare plug, my guests are going on the 30th (Chris_d). I'm on the Henley stretch if you are interested :-)
I may not be home but you would be more than welcome.
PM me if you want.......

I would be suprised if all the moorings arent booked.

Paul

I was thinking that it is a weekend and also a bank holiday weekend . That tends to be fully booked . Hopefully not but worth being aware

They still answer the phone at Hurley because it's also a campsite. You might have to try for quite a while, but someone will answer eventually.
