In the past when asked about Nav apps for IPad, I have always championed Imray, partly cos I'm a late convert to electric nav and find the paper look alike comforting and familiar.

However this year I've been running Imray and Plan2Nav( C map) side by side and have found the Imray sadly lacking.

Makes sense, electric charts for electric gizmos.

Got really excited when I saw plan2nav had COG (navionics don't exactly have it) but ma wallet fairly groaned at ra prices ... jings you must be awfy rich?!

I've put the Roller on blocks, and the savings generated by using my bus pass combined with my winter heating allowance allow extravagant navigational purchases.

Come November I'll be cold but I'll know where I am.

Not that the Imray app is any good either ...

I quite like the Imray one, but for me its purpose is for sitting at home or in the pub, scheming about future voyages (or where we might go tomorrow). While I'm sure it could be pressed into service for realtime navigation, it's not really what it's for.
