Heading down to boat today as had planned to visit Shotley for the Harwich fireworks tonight. But shipping forecast has gales in every sea area. So plan B will require abstinence and drive to view the fireworks. Does it get busy on the Shotley side? Any local info would be good.

Might be worth your while to check if the fireworks are going ahead.
Friends on the continent report that lots of displays are being cancelled because of the forecast strong winds.
Wouldn't be surprised of the H&SE starts having similar ideas soon.

Been blowing well for the last 24 hours but as said above due to drop down later.

The rain due mid morning did not materialise until 1500 so hopefully this does not mean it will still be raining at Pyrotechnics time.

Got back from the Salthouse in time for a pint and the fireworks.

Beautifully calm evening (amazing given the weather a few hours earlier) fireworks up to their usual great standard, thanks to all involved. Donation made to the 'tin' The Shipwreck were circulating.

Very quiet in people numbers down on the sea wall in comparison to other years.
