I have just been mailed this offer on emergency waterproof filler / putty.

Not a wonderful offer, but I thought the stuff worth mentioning in case some here aren't aware of it; there are other similar things available though maybe not in a useful large quantity like this ( looks large anyway, no quantity mentioned in the ad' ! ).

I have no connection with Force 4 other than having been pleased with the Chichester branch service in the past.

Stay Afloat

Not used it in anger but would have had to if I'd have crossed the channel last year as I found holes. Bought 2 tubs and a couple of those red plastic cones after the PBO testing last year. It would give you something to do if nothing else!

The video shows leaks being stopped effectively, but they are all low pressure ones. I'm always shocked at the amount of water that comes in under pressure from a small opening a couple of feet below the waterline, for example when removing a log impeller. It is salutory to think about the capacity of one's bilge pumps if faced with a leak like that. I wonder if this stuff would be any good under pressure? I'll still have some softwood plugs and a mallet handy!

+1

What also impresses me is the amount of light that sometimes comes in when you remove a log impeller.
