We are taking friends and family out of the Orwell and into the Deben, Ore or Walton Backwaters this weekend and have too many bodies for comfortable sleeping. (actually, one snores too loudly hee hee)

Does anyone know where we could pitch a small tent next to an anchorage or even marina to reduce the heat load (and noise level) of our boat for the night?

From a recent thread, I thought that anchoring off Frinton and pitching on the grass behind the beach could be fun /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Ore, on North Weir Point side, upstream of midstream shallow patch, before you get to Havergate Island. You can anchor quite close to shore. Lots of skylarks there - wonderful to hear.

Mind you, you may have to share it with waterskiers & their speedboats at some point in the day.

Butley River, port side where there's a landing stage?

Thanks to you all. - Almost one per river!

I like the idea of Butley River - we had our quietest night there recently settled into the mud with birds wading all arround the boat at low tide - bliss.
