Heard this on Radio 4 this morning. Seems that something is not joined up here? Bizarre reports of an armed boarding off Sweden, then Zebrugge tell Dover CG about an Interpol hijack alert, after it's passed though Dover Straights.
Not sure who the commentator was though, who said that it is likely a dispute with the owners and that the crew will turn up in West Africa saying "We'd like to go home please". Boat repainted and sold.

So anyone can sail a ship of 4,000 tons of explosives through the English channel without being seen or stopped,or is this not the case ? am I just thinking wrongly that security is hardly airtight when all along the authorities would know if the ship was being sailed by so called terrorists?????

The radio contacts through the English Channel were normal so how were the UK and France to know?

I assume the radio contacts were made by the crew and not by the pirates so why couldn't the crew do something wrong to signal distress that was not apparent to the pirates?
