Pirates: do you think this is true

I'm reminded of the apocryphal story about russina response during the times when western diplomats were being kidnapped in the middle east.

It was said that the reason no one kidnapped soviet diplomats was that it was tried once and the KGB simply solved the problem in such a way that it never happened again.

I find it hard to approve of summary justice and draconian response, but in the light of continued piracy, the temptation must surely be for hard and ruthless responses that simply eradicate the problem.

Arming Britiah ships surely means that guns are there to be used.

There are plenty of Russian ships sailing the seas, has one been hijacked recently? If not it may be because the pirates have learned the consequences. We may not approve of such tactics, but killing the majority of an enemy, and maiming a few to be sent away to spread the word can be effective. If you think that christians do not do such things, look up the history of the Albigensian Crusade with particular reference to Beziers and Bram.

I saw that video a while back and it was not clear then if they sunk the pirates as well as the ship. If not on here, might have been on the WBF.

Good on 'em; the only way to treat the pirates in my view!

If only all governments let the troops have a free hand it would soon stop. Too many lawyers, do-gooders, ball less politicians and snivel serpents involved for the 'educated free living' western world though.

But I suppose they could loose some votes and the ambulance chasing/do-gooder lawyers would have a field day sueing everyone.

I think what prevents governments allowing attacks on pirate mother ships is the possibility they have hostages on board. Off course some would say go ahead anyway.
