Pirates captured after French crew released

It seems that a ransom of some £1 million was paid by the owners of the Ponant. Then French commandos in helicopters chased them in cars and captured six of the pirates and recovered much of the money. The six are now on French warship on their way to France where they will be prosecuted.

Why would a Somalian arrested for piracy be sent to the UK? I don't understand. I also believe that asylum seekers and illegal entrants to the UK cannot claim any benefit nor work. I don't understand your point. Are you ignorant of UK law?
 
I think Stingo is beig humerous and making a comment of how PC we are ref the post on the RN instructed not to apprehend pirates in case they claim asylum.

Presumably your humour is based upon prejudice and my post highlighted the failings in some of the basis of your jokes - an understanding of the law. Jokes based upon prejudice are usually geared towards ignorant people who believe rumour nor reality and as I said in my first post asylum seekers and illegal immigrants cannot work and cannot claim benefit and are likely to be held in detention centres.

What is funny about spreading lies intended to cause bigotry?

I posted about this in the lounge, under the title 'time to be French'. Now, are you going to tell me that I'm employing a stereotype to make a point? If you you don't understand what point I'm trying to make here, well I can only say it's reciprocal, 'cos I sure as Hell don't understand the point you are failing to make. As it happens, I have Aspergers Syndrome and I had NO trouble seeing the joke that was OBVIOUSLY intended. Christ in Heaven, it's coming to something when people can't sound off on here. Are you by any chance employed in the legal profession?
 
Oh, didn't see your post in the lounge. I think I'll nip across there and make the same joke, just to piss marqueemoon off twice - once for my poor attempt at humour and once for multiple postings.

Ah, now that's a good question. Did you see that thread titled something like "You've been given guns, now use them"? I suspect that the pirates would be voted into Government, given a police escourt for any private (and offical, when they may actually be pretending to do some work) business they may need to addend too, be given a budget to do alterations on their private homes, they would be encouraged to take a shower after having unprotected sex with HIV positive slappers.... hmmm, I think life would be good for them.

as far as I recall this is a boating blog this thread seems to have moved on from boating (with a weak link to piracy) to the political - lots of forums for those of you who wish to throw political insults to each other - can we get to back to boating now.
