An Employer of mine was leaving Harwich for Burnham in Mobo on a rough day with wife & kids on board with him steering on the fly bridge
2 jetskis came along side & demanded he stop. Needless to say he did not but went as fast as he could.
Due to the rough sea he could not go fast & the pounding set the kids crying & the wife screaming
The jetski drivers kept trying to get aboard but his wash made it difficult
They gave up & went along the coat to Clacton. He went towards the Swin Spitway
The Jetskis then had another go at him but being calmer he managed to stop them getting alongside as he could go faster
I asked why he did not use radio to call coastguard & he said radio was on lower deck & he was S''t scared & could not stop to go below
When he arrived at Burnham he told local plod who said "if it happened again to tell them"
Jetski blokes were dressed in black & had wetsuit hoods so he could not identify them

Probably HMCG. Did they have hobnailed boots & assault rifles?

I've just sent an email to a friend who keeps his boat in the SoF and was planning on sailing to Corsica in the summer, but as he points out, he only has a Bavaria, so he's hoping the pirates might chuck him a few quid, err I mean Euros in sympathy.

I like this bit: "the pirates loaded then them into one of the yacht’s life boats and set them adrift in the Mediterranean Sea. " How many lifeboats does your yacht have?

Quite possibly the yacht has been taken to use for people smuggling. A friend sold his yacht in Turkey a few years ago, and the next thing he heard of it was a call from the police, because it had been stolen from the new owner before the latter had changed the registration and had turned up some months later being used by people traffickers.
