Pilot boat Albicore

Hi, I'm trying to track down my grandfather's pilot boat, called Albicore, and used at Barrow in Furness until (I think) the 1950s. Last heard of based around Essex and in private hands.

If anyone knows of her whereabouts, I'd be grateful for any info.

hi there. my father Roland Moore was a barrow and heysham pilot. and although I cannot help you re the whereabouts of the Albicore I do remember her, also The Argus. and Wincliffe.
I think the Argus is in Skipool boatclub near Fleetwood.

Hi, thanks for your reply. My grandfather was Richard Raby from Roa Island. Maybe you remember him, or would he have been earlier than your father?

I remember Dick Raby, also remeber him as a working pilot. You will be related to Norman Raby ? Norman Raby and I and a few others at Roa Island raced 5-0-5 sailing dingys in the 60's. you can if you wish mail me direct at info@northernmarineservices.net.
