Pilos Marina Greece

Tony,

I was describing the smaller harbour not the commercial one, Rod shows that you can go in the commercial harbour but we didn't think we'd be welcome or comfortable, far too much traffic.

If you look at Killini on Google Earth it clearly shows the smaller harbour with the channel in and there are lots of photos of yachts and trawlers in there.

Tony,

And if you drop by in Katokolon don't forget:

Two gems make this a "must stop" in spite of exposure to (rare) SE winds. Olympia and the Mercouri Wine Estate just 4km north of the harbour. See http://www.mercouri.gr/instructions_en.pdf Tour and taste; see a good modern winery at work.

You'll also find some local village maps and notes on my web site for the southwestern corner of the Pelops.

Thanks for making that clear. We mightv take a look but we'll only be there for a night so we'll probably just anchor.

We've been into Katakolon several times before and we have already taken the lovely train to Olympia. Not done the wine estate though, but I'm not keen on Katakolon and plan just an overnight stop there this time. But thanks!
