Having gained millions of boaty/ fishing points, I arranged today to go out fishing with a good mate( really good mate you should see his stainless welding!!) . I checked tides, wind, weather, etc, only to find out that I had looked at the wrong tide tables, in fact wrong month, and to add insult to injury wrong year!! so my planned day was fooked big time.Has anybody else made a similar mistake?? Today was flat calm, sunny, and reports were, the fishing was above average!! Still tomorrow is another day?

Hah! No one else makes such a mistake. But it's wonderful to hear others admit it! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I once spent a week setting up a stand at Midem, and then proceeded to miss the first day as we thought it started on the weekend, not the Friday - doh

ROFL!

I've consulted the wrong month, but never the wrong year.

Back in the 70's an old friend of mine, who liked to think he was closer to show business that he actually was, obtained two tickets for the premier night of "Grease" in London. With no girlfriend in tow at the time, he invited me along - and I jumped at the chance.

So...we drove from Chester to London in his car with the tickets in the glove box (which I didn't even bother to look at 'coz they were in an envelope) and arrived at said venue to find it looking a little on the deserted side. Well eh??? We expected glittering lights, press photographers, stars, the cast etc. Hmm??? Whats up here then, we thought. Anyway, bloke in smart doorman's uniform opens the front door looking puzzled at us two lads. We explained why we were there and he looked even more puzzled...We showed him our tickets, and he looked them over and said....

You're too late lads...it was yesterday

I once navigated the first race of the Red Funnel Easter Series using last year's almanac - made for a very interesting time.

yes - using the tidal curves book for Poole I loose track of the weekend dates and have been known to use the wrong year .......

however I become aware of this when I walk down to the boat and it rarely impacts departure by more than an hour (
