She's getting all newe top sides at the mo just wish i could some info on her i bought her 3 weeks ago for a song she has twin Aries Ajax engines with Parsons hydraulic shift gear boxes Made by Ackerboom in the 20's possibly 30's sadly thats all i know ive got an "off" number what ever that is lol.

As others have said, she is definitely late 50's or early 60's. At this time Akerboom sold a number of Dutch steel boats into the UK, some sedan style (mid steering and aft cockpit) and others aft cabin. I remember a 50 footer named Taras, kept on the owners garden in the Shepperton area of the Thames. Quite stunning.
Other Dutch builders importing at that time included C van Lent & Zonen (subsumed into the yard that currently make the Super Vancraft) and Kaag.
I came close to buying a 38 ft Van Lent of similar style not long ago. She has subsequently been fully restored and looks amazing.
Superstructures on the Dutch boats of that era were often solid teak (not faced ply) so should scrape back and varnish beautifully.
They weigh in heavy and are generally underpowered so allow plenty of time for stopping!!
I suspect that you will also find that the hull is plastered. Yes, just like your house, so you may want to check that there is still some steel behind the plaster, especially around the waterline!!! Take a look inside. Specialist steel boat surveyors will be able to measure the thickness of the steel.

Thank you very kindly for the info.
My boat has a forward cabin, centre cockpit and the aft deck is open i presume at some point there would have been some sort of canopy to cover it but there dont seem to be any signs of this.
The hull is steel with steel ribs, the machine beds are made of wood.
there is a number burned into one of the roof supports it says "off number 3035096"
anyone have any idea if this could be its regestration number ?

In the 1975 Register of Yachts there is an entry for Lady Rosalind, Official Number 303509, owned by A.E. Clough of Great Yarmouth. She was built by Ackerboom's Shipyard Ltd at Lisse and designed by Reedham and Reedcraft Ltd in 1961. Registered tonnage 6.96, Net 10.98 and gross 12.
Hope this is of some interest
