Hi all,
Just picked up my new(to me) boat from Cardiff Bay yacht club and towed her home to Warwick.
Towed like a dream behind the Disco3.
Had to make a few adjustments to the trailer as although it had been made to the correct sizes..extremely well by Beckton's...no one could have forseen that the roller struts were too long and were dangerously close to the ground. Thanks to the yard crew at CBYC who got out the acetelyne torches and cut all six down to size to suit. Here's some rather foggy hurried and extremely amateurish photos taken by me of the event on a very wet misty, cold and damp Cardiff afternoon.
Cutting The Roller Struts
Trailer Pushed Under (Yes I know rollers are the wrong way round at this point)
In Cradle
Rear Strop
Strops off and Cradle Moving Away
On Trailer Bow end
On trailer Aft End
On Trailer Bow
Misty lens or maybe it's the fog!!
Hooked up the Disco and just strapping down.
Off into the night.
All went reasonably well and got home at about 7pm this evening.
Now all safely on the drive at the rear of the house.
Doesnt quite fit as I forgot about extra length of the leg when tilted up, so may have to take a fence panel down between the drive and garden. Anyway boat will look lovely overhanging the decking at the bottom. SWMBO's so pleased!!
Cheers for Now
