Pick up from Palma Mallorca airport

We have some friends arriving at Palma airport early in June.

Given the eye watering marina rates in the bay are there any suggestions for an anchorage or marina with good transport links to the airport or a reasonable taxi run.

We are on a 13.5m sailboat

The only time I've met crew in Mallorca I was anchored in Port de Soller. They got the train from Palma (town) to Soller, then the tram to Port de Soller. Total cost is €14.

We anchored just S of the marina at Puerto de S'Arenal on the E side of Palma bay to get friends back to the airport. Just as close to the airport as Palma itself and plenty of taxis to be found just behind the beach. A couple of other suitable anchorages are available arond the Bay to the E of Palma depending on the wind.
Alternatively we used Santa Ponca, a good secure anchorage usually (it does get some nasty "micro-storms" occasionally). Taxi cost from the airport was pretty reasonable but you can also use the prebooked shuttle buses that are usually much cheaper than taxis, a google search should find many options, just use a hotel name in Santa Ponca for the destination.

5€ for the bus into town takes about 30 mins, which is faster than a taxi. Bite the bullet and stay in town, great place.

Its worth calling the RCN de Palma, they were reasonable in September '15 at c. €50/night for 13 metres. Early June may still be outside peak
