Great pics, Lovely looking boat, All the best with her.

Was it not possible to slip her in rather than lift her in? I always hate seeing photo's of boats suspended in mid air...

Petrol Rules..

....but not as much as I hated being suspended in mid air on my new pride and joy! - take another look at the middle piccy, you won't be able to see the expresssion on my face but I can tell you know it certainly was a "picture"

Not enough water on the slip for hours to drop her in off the trailer.

Thanks Two-Stroke.

Your "how much to fill 'er up" is close to the mark. She does run on LPG but the boat has got so much more "legs" than my runabout. She just wants to go for miles and miles - so I just end up burning up a load of LPG instead.

But being as there is a surplus of LPG due to over production from crude oil distillation, I feel it my duty to rid the world of some of it.

Well a rough guess at cruising speed (3000rpm - 30kts) I get about 12 gals per hour. My old boat with 100Hp Suzi at 30kts used 6 gals per hour @ £3.55 per gallon.

So...12 gals (LPG) @ £1.50 = £18 per hour. 6 gals (petrol) @ £3.55 = £21.30

So, provided my figures aren't wildly out, I am actually doing OK. Trouble is I use it more :)

That's not bad considering my single 4.3L does 12gph at 30knots (3700 rpm).

So going up to a twin with an LPG conversion (already done) is worth it - similar fuel running cost.

You just have to use it less now, or another job!

I can just picture the interview now.
"So why do you want this job?"
"To fill my boat up, please..."

Seriously, that's good. I've been looking at a Princess 266 Riveria with twin 4.3L's for next year - but would need an LPG conversion by the looks of it.

Yes - mine are 4.3's also. The trick is to work them at under 3000 revs in order to not open the second choke on the carb. Once the second choke opens - she becomes a guzzler!!

So I guess working two motors on a lighter load does the trick - especially if you convert to gas. The tanks don't take up as much room as you would mentally picture - and to convert two motors will cost approx £5000.

Keep me posted
