Picard windvane ?

Hi - has any one come across a Picard windvane on their travels? I'm sure I've read of them but can't remember where (it's an age thing I've been told). I was shown a windvane today with a wooden blade and 2 aluminium (?) wheels with slots for lines to tiller I assume and on these wheels was stamped Picard England. Have googled but no joy. Thanks in anticipation.

Probably just the wheel manufacturer .. Try self steering .. etc .. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Picard used to make all kind of DIY engineering fittings , gears, pulleys etc back in the 1970's.

Don't think they exist any more.

Could it be a 'QME' vane gear? This was a basic gear which lead straight to the tiller - no servo pendulum. A google search might find a drawing.
