PS: Forum rage is frowned upon in these here parts. :p

Ok play it your way !

It's just a shame you only have a little day boat, not a proper boat so you could go off finding secret coves, dropping the anchor and enjoying some fine dining whilst watching the sunset before retiring to bed and waking up the next morning ready to do it all over again in another hidden secluded cove all in 5 star self catering comfort :p

But not worry I guess blasting about for the day and having to be back before its late is just as much fun !!! ???

Oh but I do. I putter around a couple islands in the Caribbean. I watch the sunsets regularly.

View from my verandah - I am very fortunate.

If I wish to pop over to say St.Barths and drink with the rich and famous I can do so in my friends KATE (a 78'0" gaff rigged america's cup first rule yacht)

OK I don't do it on a whim as we have to plan it.

Unfortunately I am not a mega (not even any where near that) rich chap, but I try to live within my means and so far I am really happy.

Each to their own and whatever makes them happy..

Are those O/Bs fully trimmed in, or am I mistaken?

The picture is taken a couple hundred feet after a standing start. You can see this by the length of the wake.

In this boat, it is best to start with the engines almost fully trimmed down.
The hull is basically horizontal.
This allows this boat to get up on the plane quicker.
Once on the plane, I trim the engines up until just before the bow gently rises and falls.
Then I tend to throttle back until it is cruising, but just on the plane.
Then the speed is about 20 knots and the fuel consumption is the most efficient.
Wake is also the minimum.

This pic is with the old 90hp Mercurys

Picture also taken before the "T Top" fitted RP......was that put on to keep the rain off the operator? :D
Well spotted

It's to keep the sun off. If it is raining we don't go out.

The T-top was being renovated.
I took a sheet and a half of 1/2 plywood off the top (massive weight) and replaced it with a thick vinyl.
Reduces shock when the boat slams into a wave. :)
