Pi**ing contests ...

Some Posters:
1. Know a lot and, know where to look for that which they need to answer your questions.
2. Know a lot but do not have the time to improve their knowledge.
3. Know little as yet, but if can be persuaded to listen to those more knowledgeable on this
Forum may yet replace those of us who may "pop our clogs" before passing on whatever knowledge we possess for the benefit of our fellow boaters,
freely given in the great spirit of camaraderie which characterizes those who venture perhaps out of sight of land on our own hulls.
4. The rest simply like to write stuff which may not help, in an effort to justify their miserable existence.

Why do all the 'promising' threads always seem to disintegrate into a pissing contest between a pair of pillocks trying to prove to anyone reading, how vastly superior their 'knowledge' of boating is to anyone elses' ...

Yeah I know what you mean - I have just been party to a similar discussion on the Mobo forum.

Basically, people who think they know it all are very annoying to those that do.

I think it's mainly because mist posters gave stopped learning and don't socialise well.

It is always the same names.

Feels like being at school sometimes.
