Guys,

I have now been embarased twice opening threads on this forum, to find inappropriate photos. Whilst personally I don't mind, others who happened to be looking over my shoulder weren't impressed.

Could we use a particular Icon to indicate 'adult' images?

Woops, Sorry, I guess one was mine but i never normally do it.
To be fair anyone can buy the Sun (assuming they still have page 3)?
Sorry,
Andy.

This is true. However I choose not to buy the sun because I know what's in it and I wouldn't want anyone else to think I was a Sun reader.

Point made, 'nough said and thanks for listening.

I think the accepted convention is to preface title with "NSFW", meaning Not Safe For Work. This should avoid embarrassment!

That only works if you have the same "threshold". The bothies my chaps had at work were festooned with naked women / soft porn. Same wouldnt apply in the vicarage - though I do wonder about our vicar.

Presumably the OP had a low threshold.

Personally it wouldnt bother me if the only photos allowed were of boats with fully clothed female crew if there were any crew.

I'm with VinceHall on this one. I enjoy the BC forum when it's about sailing and things related to sailing (like places to visit from BC ports, cycling from BC ports etc.)., but I'm not interested in those sorts of photos and if I was, I'd look elsewhere for that sort of thing.

When i was in heavy industry my boss a retired army officer used to read the Sun as well as all the heavys every day "To get the man on the streets perspective old boy".
No shame in being a sun reader.

Joke (Adult)

I agree in principle, on most other forums I use they have a joke section but even then assuming anyone of any age can read the media we simply put "Joke ........... (ADULT CONENT!) or " over 18" in the subject title.

Admitadly some of the media shown on some "other" forums is of a much deeper nature than that found on page three of the sun.

Having a heading at least gives the reader an option not to "turn the page" as it were and open the thread.

I have to admit I did think it was a little "risqae" for the BC but I personally found it unofensive and amusing, again, only my personal opion of course.
