Hi, I'm in Canaries Islands now.. a Spanish territory.
You have to contact either MOVISTAR or AMENA, they will issue you a Spanish telephone number with a new SIM card.. Both have access to Internet.
I've been using Movistar in Andalousia and now in Canaries.. but it seems that Amena is giving a better service..
I have been told, that I can't use a pay as you go card (movistar) to gain access to internet through my computer, is this true, they said I neede a contract?? Can't see it but there it is.
With your Telepolis software you have to say which area you are in by ticking a box a the LHS of the dialogue box and then on the RHS in another small box you can be more specific and when you do that it gives a local telephone number to use.
We found 550 was perfect until January this year and now it's always busy. If you find a Movistar shop with English speaking staff they will be able to put you through to "Head Office" who will give you another number from the 550 series. Sorry can't be more precise but the number went down with the boat!!
