Does anyone what the Philips AP Navigator GPS type: PHN 101 is? It looks like a hand held instrument with a lanyard. I already own a Mk 4 wall mounted but do not know this model.

Philips AP Navigator

I would be interested in any positive replies you get.
I inherited an APN4 Basic when I purchased Katouf in 2003 but it only showed the yachts previous position at Sussex Yacht Club before defaulting to 'Antenna error' when switched on.
I was led to believe that this was because the system used the defunct Decca network and general opinion of PBO posters was that it was not worth pursuing further.
Philips were taken over / merged with Leica but the staff there didn't know about the ANP4 hardware. You may have better luck.

If my memory is correct it was made for the Decca system and only 1 waypoint could be entered.

The Philips AP4 was for the Decca network which sadly is no more...However the Ap 4makes a very accurate voltmeter to 2 places of decimal.

The Philips AP 8 was a satellite navigator and even now excellent for yotties as it can produce polar diagrams with Nmea inputs from the other instrumentation and still sold as Leica.

I didn t come across the 101 but reference to it in 2004 on other forums got zero response so it could be old enough to precide GPS.

There is one for sale on ebay., But then maybe that is why you are asking.
I don't know this model, but it looks very similar to the Motorola Traxar which was a handheld GPS from about 1994.
