Has anybody had a bottle of Petrus at a beachside restaurant at Pampelonne, was it worth it?.In terms of a tank full of diesel (for the Solent brigade it's e 2400 per bottle).

,was it worth it?... e 2400 per bottle.

At those prices "worth" is very much in the eye of the becreditcardholder. But all 3 restaurants -Voile Rouge, Nikki and club55- charge much more than a top London restaurant for the same bottle of high end wine, so arguably "no". Unless you are having a fantastic riproaring lunch of course...
What do you think?

In the general scheme of running a boat down here it is not a great deal £2400 for a bottle of wine .However I think I would prefer to spend it on diesel, enjoy the boat more and drink something a bit more realistic.
I guess the big charter customers from the abundance of super yachts in the bay , sat at adjacent tables perhaps here for only a week, to them it's a drop in the ocean.
You can take the man out of Yorkshire but not Yorkshire out of the man.
