Good afternoon folks,

I hope all your weekend's are going swimmingly!

Firstly thank you to all those who replied to my previous posting, we're just about to 'invest' in a Sealine 220 - 1, 2, 3, ahhhh!

A couple of questions for you to ponder and hopefully discuss....

1 - As a petrol boat I've noticed the prices vary considerably from marina to marina. Does anybody have recent figures from the Solent contingent? (She'll be moored in Swanwick)

2 - Presuming I dont find a marina offering our favourite Unleaded at the same 'reasonable' prices that apply at my local Shell station would rob me for, has anybody considered something like Shell Optimax? Can it really make a difference to our beast's beats??

3 - Finally, when we finally get our hands on her, she's going to need a little cosmetic attention such as recovering a cockpit seat and the reincarnation of one seat recently lost overboard. Has anybody any recommendations?

4 - And finally finally, another canopy is on the shortlist. Do any companies in the Southampton area produce them?

Anyway my new found friends, thank you once again for your time, any replies will be greatly appreciated.

Kindest regards

James

Don't know about petrol except that it ws a £1 a litre in Poole four years ago.

Hawke House marine, who advertise in the back pages of PBO etc. aren't that far away and could do all the fabric/vinyl repairs you are on about. Their tel no: 01329 668800

Most of the solent petrol prices were hovering at around 97p or above last year.

Yarmouth is almost invariably the cheapest in the Solent. I filled up there a couple of weekends ago, but didn't note the price.

I shouldn't worry too much about the make of petrol, you have to make do with what's available unless you are going to ferry cans of petrol from your favourite petrol station
