I've been told that the engine block on the Volvo petrol AQ 140A is the same block that is used on the diesel engine, if this is so has anyone any information as to what is involved in converting the engines to diesels. Cheers.
The block may be the same but there it would end, the crank, conrods, pistons, head, flywheel, bearings will all be different not to mention that a fuel pump and drive will be needed, good thought but forget it.
Yes Dead easy...first strip the engine completely and throw everything away except the block. Then buy a diesel and strip it completely..throw the block away. Then stuff all the bits into the first block and you will have one diesel engine for the price of two.
