Does anyone know of any additive which can be put into petrol engines to guard against the problems of water, due to condensation, and other nasties? Looks like our boat will be laid up for winter with about 40-50 gallons of fuel in the tank - no way of removing and storing it, so would be grateful for any suggestions to keep it in good condition.

The US guys use one which I think is called Stabi-it or something similar. It stops the fuel gumming things up as well as stabilises for storage.

I have used a product which I bought at Aladins Cave at Bursledon. Can't remember the name off hand but it is great stuff. You add it to the fuel just before useing it again, agitate slightly and hey presto no water left in the fuel. Eneded years of nightmares for me. If still desperate for a name I will try and get to the boat at the weekend and look it out.

thanks Jim. By the way, we had a TR7V8 several years ago - Grinnall (?? I think) conversion. Very nice!
