Why the tides when that information is readily available? Why not the charts, where they are not only selling the same survey data over and over again, but much of it was done centuries ago!
The reality of course is that neither partition will succeed. So the only anbswer is civil disobedience - the Xerox is your friend!
I'm simply staggered that Poms have to pay for this info. Your taxes have already paid government workers. Vhf radio licenses should be free too. Do you still have TV licenses?

I use these ones, as they give multiple predictions for the same time so that variability is taken into account.
[/ QUOTE ]those synoptics are used by the vast majority, albeit via different portals. It just seems crap to me that they are published in Germany but not in the UK. Still the same information, I know, but it's the principle of it !!

[/ QUOTE ] Have you any idea what you are talking about? Try looking at the survey data on a chart. There's not much data that is centuries old. Also most UK data is paid for from private contractors. What surveys do you think are paid for out of taxes? UKHO might oversee, but taxes don't pay for most survey work. You can argue otherwise, but the reality is somewhat different. Where do does everyone get the ideas that taxes have paid for the survey work?
Which reminds me - the last time this was argued, I promised to set up a visit to UKHO for those interested. PM me if any want to go.
If you could partition the government I suppose you might divide and conquer...
However, I feel that the English used in the petition could be a little better. ie: 'The UK is one of the only countries in the world' would read better as '....one of a few countries....' Or, if correct '.....the only country in the world...........' Not that it would make much difference to its understanding by the average minister!
