Have been invited by the owner of a Vancouver 38 to sail from Grenada to Brisbane via the Panama canal. Am now looking for insurance to cover me for repatriation in case of illness or injury but the companies I have spoken to so far get nervous when I say outside of territorial waters. Anyone with any experience of this issue??.

I used www.snowcard.co.uk for personal insurance, including helicopter rescue, and repatriation, for a trip from UK to Madeira in 2004. I'm pretty sure they offered worldwide coverage.
