In true Private Eye fashion, I noticed the following statement in August's 'Sternpost' feature in CB:

"If the great skippers like Charlie Barr, Reliance; Sir Philip Hunloke, Britannia and their ilk were alive today they would turn in their graves at such a spectacle."

Shurely some mishtake?

No /<ris - you're missing the point! If they were alive today, and in their graves, then this spectacle (assuming they could see it from their graves), would make them turn. If they were dead in their graves, then obviously they couldn't turn 'cos their muscles would have long wasted away or been eaten by worms. Sternpost is therefore perfectly logical.

I think I've got that right - I'm a bit demob crazy 'cos we're going across to Colijnsplaat tomorrow (and the next day), and there's a decent W/NW forecast, (possibly may be able to hoist Joseph, the sail of many colours).
