Ihave an elderly Perkins 4107 in my Mitchell23, The engine runs fine up to approx 2000rpm then knocks badly!!, have reconned injectors, but still knocking. Compression test shows low compression (about 140psi on no2cylinder.
Any advice on whether spares ie pistons, rings & liners, valves etc etc etc are still available for me to do a full rebuild, or does any body sell recon 4107's (or 4108's).
Failing that what new engine would anyone suggest suggest replacing the old perkins with, with as little alteration as poss to shaft etc.
