perkins prima?

anyone know what these are like. what name do they go under when marinised, and what they fit them to "in real life"

iv'e been told that they may be a better choice for my boat (rather than the ford diesels that i already have (not fitted yet)

if i can locate a pair of prima's i will have a pair of ford xld 416's going begging... any takers?

any points on the above appreciated.

Have a look 'ere. <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.integerspin.co.uk/landrover01.htm>http://www.integerspin.co.uk/landrover01.htm</A>. Basically its a marinised montego engine. Could be a good route if you get a turbo jobby. Perkins give them the tag MT80. worth looking on teir web site as well.

sorrymate, forgot all about the wheel!. i'm waiting on another so i'll let you know.. is the one you've got no use on yours then?

iv'e sourced two prima's today so once iv'e finished buggering about with the micro plus, and now the oyster launch i'll get on with stripping them out. i'll need to do a bit more research into fitting them and the cost of cooling kit, but i'm sure that for my boat the more powerfull engines would give me a better starting point.

i considered fitting 2.5 litre transit engines, but was put off by the weight. (the engines, not mine!!) to get better power output.

i'll drop HOOOO a line and see what he's up to but yes, iv'e got a pair of engines sat here.
