Hi, anyone know the power output of the 2.0 perkins prima engine?

i'm looking at the turbo version.

also, what is the "marine" equivilent?

thanks.

steve.

The Perkins Prima was a Montego diesel marinised by Perkins as the Prima and was 50hp. I don't know if Perkins themselves sold it as a higher output version but Volvo took the same engine from Perkins (but not gearbox or electrics), painted it green, fiited their gearbox and Bosch electrics and sold it as the Volvo MD22L in 50hp form. Volvo also sold a MD22 as 60hp (I think) that was higher revving but non-turbo and then there was also a turbo version (MD???) at maybe 70hp, all from the same base unit. We had a MD22L installed in our last boat (raggie) and it was excellent.

Perkins sold it as the M80T for the turbo engine. It too was 78hp.

ASAP Supplies do all the marinising gear for DIY marinising. Their very good engines, shame the cars turned into a pile of iron oxide rather quickly.

but for me that's ideal!

keeps the costs down.
the turbo version sounds ideal, lighter than the N/A transit, and is bulletproof.... alledgedly.

thanks for the help guys.. much appreciated.
