Perkins Prima 50 impeller

I've got the water pump off and the manual says to remove the rubber end cap, then pull the impeller from the shaft. Trouble is, I can't see how to pull the rubber cap off without risk of damage.

Any ideas, please?

It should just flick off with a fingernail.

You could just prize it off with a wee screw driver, but TBH I can't see how that has any bearing on removing the impeller. I just grab a blade with a pair of pliers, and pull it off complete with the rubber cap. I also have a Perkins Prima, but it's painted with posh green paint, and called a Volvo Penta MD 22.

I do similar but grab 2 blades with 2 pairs of pliers
