Hello all, not sure what the terminology is but please bear with me. Here's my issue, near the bottom of my Perkins Perama M20 engine (starboard side)...
As you can see, there's a little pipe protruding from the top of the carter, that has - hahaaa - snapped. The bolts can be undone, the things moves easily BUT cannot be pulled out - looks like the pipe continues to the bottom of the tank to pick up the oil from the carter.. Thus, it's too short to block and too anoyingly long (and bent) to remove...
Any clues, ideas or comments as to what to do with it!???
Many thanks in advance... An before you start, I just bought the boat, ok? Aaaaaand I am new to diesels. And, yes I did change the oil via dipstick pipe... so this whole annoying contraption is unnecessary!
Aaaaand here's the broken bit (if it helps):
Any ideas are welcome! I believe that this detail has been ommited in all subsequent Volvo 2020 engines (this Perkins is a 1994 pedigree).
