What sort of hours would one expect to get out of a Perkins T6-354 that runs at mainly 1000rpm, and if one has to re-condition the motor do I need a new morgage to pay for it, it has done 7000 hours so far

Are you having any problems? Your question is like how long is a piece of string. 1000 RPM is quite low and diesels like to work but frankly the best advice is...If it aint broke dont mend it.

No not haveing any problems yet just sort trying to find out what sort of hours you can expect out of this type of motor before it gives troubles, and yes I agree 1000rpm is low but this is reflected in a fuel consumption of around 4:2 ltr per hour. Running the motor at low revs will shorten its life but it is a case of swings and roundabouts, low fuel use is ok for us at moment
