I mentioned in a previous thread about replacing my old 4107's with something more beefier. I don't want to do much in the engine bays and it seems the M65 would fit without many problems.
Are they good engines?
What vehicles / plant machinery are they used in?
Thanks

They were used in the Freight Rover / Leyland DAF 200 series, Maestro and Montego. From Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LDV_Pilot

While the K2 Sherpa's engines remained available (including the ancient B series diesel), a 2.5 litre diesel unit was now offered on the 300 series. The B series diesel bowed out shortly after 1986 in the 200 series, being then replaced by the 2.0 NA direct injection Diesel Rover MDi / Perkins Prima, (as found in Maestros and in turbocharged form in Montegos and late Maestros (from 1992 to 1994)) which was effectively a dieselised BL O series engine.

I think that they are popular for re-engining Land Rovers

Incidentally this seller of 2nd hand marine engines has a MD22 and a Prima M50 for sale:

Although they also have a few Nanni's (one pair at 40hp each and a single 62hp) and a Volvo D2-55. Maybe work a call to see if they have anything coming in in a suitable pair. Advantage of all these is that they've always been marine engines. Also they all seem to offer gearboxes which you won't need, may be able to reduce the price a little to get you on budget.

Never heard of them. Very interesting. They have a few engines that would be suitable. Many Thanks. :-)
