Perkins engines again

Does anyone know whether a Perkins 4.107 head will fit onto a 4.99 block without modification please?

Yes in theory it will fit although the head studs are different sizes on the "99" "107" and "108"(99 use the smallest). if these are different you may need larger heavy washers under the head nut's.

This is just my opinion and I have never tried this, although I would try it after carefull comparisons.

Thank you for that. Yes, I have seen that engine too and may negotiate with the seller if I have no joy with my own!

I take it, it was a hole in the liner.

Don't know yet Willie. Everything removed from head including head bolts, but having trouble lifting head off at the moment. Still got crossed fingers for a gasket problem only. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
