Some time ago another forum user posted or PM'd me some details about changing the cooling set-up on a 6354. I seem to recall, but not too sure, that the mod made the manifold freshwater cooled. If you were the poster, could I please have the info again as I can't find it. Or can anyone shed any light on this topic?

Thanks in advance.

Er, mine's freshwater cooled . . . Isn't that what marinising is all about? In which case Sabre-Perkins should be able to supply a kit (at enormous expense no doubt.)

There's an (American) 6.354 Forum. For details of that and specialist firms, with more thoughts on how to proceed (short of taking mine to bits!!) please PM with e-mail address.

The engines are fresh water cooled already. What he and i means is changing the the exhaust manifold to run in the fresh water rather than salt water circuit - as they rot out quite quick and at great expense!

alb40 is right. This is already a marine engine. The mod makes either the exhaust manifold or the exhaust elbow jacket freshwater cooled instead of raw water cooled - I'm not sure which, hence my question. I have looked on the 6354 forum but only found one relevant post which didn't go into much detail.

yes, it did involve tapping into the water pump and re-routing something else. I think the forum member I mentioned was based on the IoW.
