perkins 6354 engine cuts out

Hi Can I get some help I have a perkins 6354 single engine and when its warm and I put it in idle it cuts out. not good as you can imagine. I was reversing from outside and then it cut out by the time I got it started again a big bang ? any help much appreciated ?

No just when it in neutral it cuts out never happened before.

Several potential issues:

Check the strainer filter mesh inside the lift pump for contamination or clogging.

Has it got the throttle damper valve? if so is this working and set up correctly.

Has the filter housing got a hairline crack in it, not uncommon in marine and industrial applications.

Are the fuel lines in good condition and not leaking or sucking in air, are the connections in good condition and not sucking in air.

Is your fuel in good condition? they are susceptible to poor fuel, particularly if the water content is to high in the fuel, not something visible to the naked eye.

Are your valves set correctly.
