My boat has a perkins 4108 diesel engine, quite old but in excellent condition, starts first time, no smoke. Had a good supply of all filters when purchased but need to purchase more.
Have tried the Perkins site but not to helpfull, is it best to stick with original spares, if so where can they be obtained, or are the alternative copies as good, any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks

All you need is a good auto supply shop who will find you a coopers or autopart equivalent. The keythings to know are the thread. Its either 5/8 UNF or 16mm (I would guess UNF in your case. The diameter of the seal and the dia of the outer casing and length all of which you can measure easily. If you give me the details I might even be able to give you a stock no but you are better taking the old one to autopart or similar

Take the old one to a motorspares shop (preferably one that deals with the trade) or give them the Perkins number on the filter and buy some more! it is as simple as that.
